Animation Pottery on Stick Tower

Michel Chantepie, professional potter since 1983, perpetuates a seigneurial tradition of the 16th century by creating his enamel «Bleu de Rochefort» which covers his pottery of sandstone, signature of his production.
Now retired, he continues his passion for the land with a stick tower, in medieval dress to show you ancient knowledge, under the name of Mikael Kantpig.
This ancestral technique was used until the arrival of electricity and in some workshops until 1950. The wheel is launched with the rod driven by the potter’s arms.
This very physical, interactive visual animation that interests young and old alike, allows the public to see and understand the manufacture of pottery before the arrival of electricity.
Mikael Kantpig, during the day, turns many pots with clay balls that take shape under the eyes of the public.
